MANIFIESTO DE DEVIANT/DEVIANT MANIFESTO
Principios:
Acercarse a la Fotografía como medio de expresión artística y cultural, respetando en lo posible las reglas y limitaciones de la misma en su forma análoga. Limitándose en el aspecto digital a no ir más lejos de las técnicas del laboratorio/cuarto oscuro y manteniendo un enfoque purista más no pacato en el acercamiento al arte, donde prevalezca la habilidad del artista/artesano sobre la oferta de retoques, crear un espacio donde la composición y el conocimiento del equipo sean prioritarios y se minimice el uso de ayudas digitales para no ir más lejos del sentido común y mantenerse cercano a la realidad.
Principles:
To approach Photography as an artistic and cultural means of expression, obeying the rules and limitations of the original craft. To limit myself (regarding the digital approach) to the real and plausible darkroom techiniques, maintainig a purist yet not fanatic expression where the skill and knowledge prevails before the wide offer of technical/digital solutions, and to develop a space where they’re kept to the minimum.
Intenciones:
Exponer de forma pública y gratuita mi acercamiento al oficio en su aspecto digital y de ser posible también el clásico.
La galería es y será un testimonio de la evolución/involución del conocimiento y desarrollo de la técnica creando así un recuento vivo de lo que ha sido mi trayectoria.
Asimismo abrir un espacio de crítica constructiva en el que se invita a aportar al crecimiento y expansión de la técnica, donde se recibirá con más agrado la critica infundada que el elogio barato.
Intentions:
Create a space for free and public exposure to my approach to the craft, in it’s digital Branco, and if posible so showcase also my film/classical work.
The gallery is to be a living statement of the evolution/involtuion of mis knoledge and skill, thus creating a record of my past/future process.
It will also be an open space fr constructive criticism in which you are invited to collaborate to the growth and feeding of the technique, where founded critics are valued before meaningless praising.
Enfoque:
Por motivos ajenos a mi no dispongo del equipo que desearía, así que con las herramientas a las que tenga acceso presentar de la mejor manera posible los trabajos, enfocados principalmente hacia:
Blanco y Negro: Manejo tonal de la imagen.
Composición de la Imagen.
Formato: Libre, sin alejarse de los físicamente asequible (35mm (3:2), 6x6 (1:1) etc.
Color: No está descartado, más no será prioritario.
Focus:
Sadly I don’t have the equipment I would like to (dSLR, Film scanner...) so I will try to make the best out of what I can find, orientated towards:
Black and White & Composition.
Format to be used: Free, but focusing on those available for fil (35mm (3:2), 6x6 (1:1) etc.
Colour: Non prioritary.
Con el tiempo se establecerá un estilo propio y definido, mientras tanto se experimentara, y están bienvenidos a observar y colaborar en el proceso.
Time will tell and I will acquire a personal style, on the mean time I will experiment, with the gallery as my record. You are welcome to participate and give some input to the process.
